Today I got up early (as I write every time) I really appreciate the early morning hours. Made myself a cuppa warm lemon water and took care of all the Bishop’s elder leaves picked yesterday 🍃.
The weed that few wants is actually a vegetable once imported to be grown in monastery gardens far back in time.
I rinsed and gently dryed them of with a towel before filling 3 trays to put in the convection oven at about 40 degrees Celsius.
It takes a few hours for them to dry and cool before putting them in the mixer and turn them into a fine powder filled with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
I also tried for the first time to make my own gruel. By roasting oatmeal with a pinch of salt in the copper pan.
As with the herb I mixed it into a powder. It turned out a delight ♥️ I’ll never go to the grocery store to buy gruel again!
